The pieces are written for a symphony orchestra, consisting of 2 flutes, oboe, cor anglais (English horn), 2 clarinets in Bb, bass clarinet (a tenor sax could be substituted for one, or a baritone sax but the parts would have to be transcribed), 2 bassoons, 4 French horns, 3 trumpets, 3 tenor trombones, 1 bass trombone (or tuba), harp (or piano, preferably electric with Fender Rhodes setting), timpani, percussion, 1st violins, 2nd violins, violas, cellos and basses. The music traces the evolution of a house from Medieval times to the present. Play in the order shown.. For more details about the houses, click here. The music does not reflect much of the stages the house went through, but just pays lip-service to them. Click on back arrow to return to the original page. The music sounds best here with headphones.
A note to a conductor/band director: Scores are included, which are written in concert pitch. The bass clarinet is written an octave higher than it sounds. Rits are written above the stave and not under it and a metronome marking is given where tempo is resumed.  : :My apologies - There was a fault with the notation software which I have just noticed (November 15th) Dots that should have appeared after some notes and rests did not get reproduced. I have now put the correct amended scores and parts up.
